Amazon recently expanded its range of Kindle e-readers with the Oasis, a slimmer, lighter model (131g and 3.4mm at its slimmest section, without case) promising record-breaking battery life.
The new Kindle Oasis has a specially developed design that shifts the device’s center of gravity to the palm, making one-handed reading more comfortable. Plus, readers can turn pages quickly and easily either by pressing the touch screen or by using the buttons at either side of the display.
The Kindle Oasis is already the eighth-generation e-book reader made by Amazon. As well as its lightweight build and updated design, the new model stands out thanks to its charging cover, promising several months of battery life.
In fact, the device has a dual-battery system. When the Kindle Oasis is connected to its case, this automatically charges the device. When the e-reader and its case are hooked up to the mains, both parts recharge simultaneously.
The Kindle Oasis has a next-generation, high-resolution (300 ppi) Paperwhite display for sharp text and paper-like quality. It’s also the first generation to use a chemically reinforced cover glass, ensuring a robust finish and sturdy performances for users on the move.
The new Kindle Oasis is out now priced $289.99 for the Wi-Fi model or $359.99 for the Wi-Fi/3G version.
