The Mirror UK has reported that plans for a 2017 Spice Girls reunion may now be off the table entirely, after a failed final bid to persuade Melanie Chisholm (Mel C) to join.
Reports of a reunion to take place, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the super band's debut single "Wannabe" (released on July 8, 1996), have been rife for some time, and were confirmed when Melanie Brown revealed that the event had been pushed back to 2017, during an interview on US chat show "Live With Kelly."
However, hopes were quashed of a reunion between all five band members -- Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Geri Horner, Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton -- after reports that Beckham had little interest in rehashing her days as a Spice Girl according to NME.
While Horner, Bunton and Brown remained keen for the show to go on -- Chisholm in response has said that she'll only participate in a reunion if all five band members are included, which has put a stop to plans for the moment.
